Yes, in many cases professional cleaning and regeneration is possible and makes economic sense. Deposits of ash, dust or light oil residues block the active sites of the catalyst. Special chemical washing processes can remove these deposits and largely restore the original catalytic activity. This extends the service life of the catalyst considerably and is usually much less expensive than a replacement.
