Industrial coating / curing

What is industrial painting?

Industrial coating is a key process in many industries – from the automotive industry to mechanical engineering and furniture production. The aim is to protect, refine and functionally optimize surfaces. Various processes are used, such as spray painting, powder coating or dip coating.

Challenge: VOC emissions in painting processes

Industrial painting produces considerable quantities of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

These originate mainly from:

  • Solvents in the paint

  • Evaporation processes during evaporation

  • Thermal stress during curing

The role of catalysts in exhaust air purification

Catalytic exhaust gas purification systems are used in industrial paint shops to effectively reduce VOC emissions.

Catalysts enable the oxidation of pollutants at significantly lower temperatures than with purely thermal processes:

VOCs → CO₂ + H₂O

This means:

Less energy consumption combined with high cleaning performance

Advantages of catalytic solutions for paint shops

High separation efficiency

Reliable removal of VOCs and odorous substances – even with fluctuating loads

Energy saving

Lower operating temperatures significantly reduce energy requirements

Compact design

Ideal for integration into existing painting lines

Sustainability

Significant improvement in the environmental balance
